Encaustic. molten wax & resin
The word encaustic is of Greek origin and means to
“burn in." It refers to the process of fusing the organic wax and resin medium into itself by the application of heat. This versatile ancient artistic medium lends itself to mysterious translucent textures and expressions.
Unlike traditional painting mediums, Encaustic can be layered with either transparent or opaque effects. It can be carved, incised, or used in collage for a range of tactile sculptural surfaces.
Encaustic evokes wonder.
